Meet Our Founder

Gourmet Soul is the love child of our Founder, Chef Lavinia McCoy. As a young child, Lavinia discovered her love for exquisite homemade meals. She always enjoyed watching her mother and elders make delicious crowd-pleasing meals.  However, it was later in life that Lavinia pursued her culinary passions.  

The Chef is a proud Air Force Veteran with over 30 years of experience in program management including: personnel, fiscal management, contract compliance, public relations, and daily operations. 

When the time was right, Lavinia tenaciously pursued her culinary degree.  She graduated from Le Cordon Bleu, College of Culinary Arts in July 2012 with a degree in Culinary Arts. 


It is evident Chef Lavinia’s ongoing commitment to excellence laid the foundation for her inevitable success.Chef Lavinia is a dynamic and accomplished caterer and event planning professional with experience in non-profit and corporate markets.

Chef Lavinia is restauranteur who is exceptionally well organized and practiced in conducting business at the highest level of professionalism. Gourmet Soul has not only survived the pandemic – we have thrived. The past year has afforded opportunities to broaden our scope, build relationships, and expand our customer base.
